Deep ploughing 2016 | New Holland T7.270 & Massey Ferguson 7626 | 530 HP!

Deep ploughing is something almost unique to the polders in the Netherlands. In this case the heavy clay soil (50%+ clay content) is ploughed under 1.10m deep and fresh sand and peat is brought up. It looks extreme but the clay and sand will later be mixed, creating a versatile top soil that can grow nearly every crop. This is for an organic farm who will grow vegetable crops. The lighter land gives them more working days which are needed for mechanical weed control.

The job is carried out by a New Holland T7.270 Golden Jubilee (270 HP) and a Massey Ferguson 7626 Dyna-VT (260 HP). The MF is using a special build Panter deep plough. The outfit belongs to Dutch contractor Breure & De Waard from Swifterbant/Zeewolde. Prior to ploughing the top soil is broken up using a Case IH CS 150 and Selvatici spading machine.
